I met Natasha of Water Lily Pond back when I lived in San francisco. I was inspired by her work and her sense of color. Take a look at this incredible installation she and her team did for this year's "Bouquets to Art" at the De Young Museum. I can't even imagine the hours and planning that went into this - stunning!
From Natasha - "Suspended within the austere, angular space of the de Young Museum’s Wilsey Court and set against the abstract, black-and-white backdrop of Gehard Richter’s Strontium mural, a vibrant infusion of color and dynamic form initiates a celebration of life and all things Elemental. Suspended within the austere, angular space of the de Young Museum’s Wilsey Court and set against the abstract, black-and-white backdrop of Gehard Richter’s Strontium mural, a vibrant infusion of color and dynamic form initiates a celebration of life and all things Elemental. Designed for the grand celebration of the 25th Anniversary of Bouquets to Art, the 20-foot diameter 800 pounds in weight installation is a significant presence in Wilsey Court. It is architectural in scale, providing exciting views from all perspectives. Five-hundred bright yellow blossoming branches of forsythia, and 30 manzanita trees with their twisted, organic branches painted bright red surround a copper cone at the center. The ascending spiral is structured by 100-feet of shiny copper tubing, along which segments of curly willow and 500 stems of the exotic flower anthuriums are arranged."
