OK - somehow I slept through this but a few posts ago - I hit my 1000th post! That is a really big number! 1000 posts about great design, handmade goods, great paint colors, inspirational flowers - wonderful people, places and things. I want to thank everyone for reading - old fans and new! Thanks for supporting me all this time. Here's to 1000 more!
We started this show of Anna See's wonderful bird linocut prints a week ago at ink & peat and sold out so fast I didn't even get a chance to post about it! Well, folks we are back in stock! So come by and see all these cuties.
When I lived in San Francisco, I used to love going to the Ferry Building Market on Saturdays. Swing by the farmer's market outside and then head into the gourmet shops inside. One of my favorite shops there is Cowgirl Creamery and it is always bustling. Cowgirl Creamery is an organic artisanal cheesemaker out of Pt. Reyes Station, California. Ever since I can remember (other than my 1 month stint as a vegan years ago) I have been a fan of lovely cheeses. I think it comes from my English Grandmother and possibly too much watching of Wallace & Gromit. And I can tell you any time we have a party at ink & peat, I might treat us to a 1/4 slice of the Mt. Tam or St. Pat (which is wrapped in nettles), and it is the first cheese to go. People want to gobble it up! Their cheeses are so mild and smooth but flavorful. And you can have things shipped as well!
One of my favorite color combos for spring and summer...coral and grey. I love these new pieces in the collection at West Elm (chunky knit tassel throws, Chrysanthemum rug, and ruffled cotton duvet cover and shams). Always a good match - a punchy fun color (coral) with a grounding neutral (grey). Breezy and summery! Now if summer would get here to Portland, already!

I love these colorful beakers from UK designer Rachel Foxwell ceramics. I can never get enough of handmade, modern ceramics and these are oh so lovely!

I am not sure how I missed this but at some point this year ABC Home and Carpet in NY launched its online store. Go take a look at all the goodies. Not quite the same as wandering around the actual 8 jillion square foot space in Manhattan, but it will do!
