Ah...Tail of the Yak. Where to even start with this quaint shop? I have been shopping there for about 18 years (since college, ok?) and continue to find that same sense of inspiration and wonder every time I go. Again the words "well-curated" come to mind - obviously creating gorgeous little vignettes is a talent of owners Lauren and Alice. A delight of color and pattern - delicate hand-printed papers, vintage ribbons, vintage wood religious statuary, estate jewelry, and treasures from all over the world. The perfect brightly colored tapers, the aperitif glasses with etched scrollwork, the hand-embroidered tapestries from India all framed with draping be-ribboned bay leaf garlands...just an eyeful of wonders. And all the while a gentle cooing of doves in a lovely birdcage. Sigh.
Wow, what an amazing shop filled with amazing stock an with altogether amazing name! Once again you have made me wish that I lived in the States that I could experience these shops firsthand. Thank you for letting me experience this vicariously through you.
