love in a mist

Here is a delicate and eclectic bridal bouquet. It features one of my favorites - "love-in-a-mist". It is a gorgeous green pod with burgundy stripes and wisps of green foliage surrounding it. I wanted this to look very natural and romantic. I also used pale yellow Alexandra roses, berzellia, Supergreen roses, Akito roses, white snowberries, delicate ferns, and chocolate cosmos to pick up the burgundy tones. I also added one blossom of the love-in-a-mist for "something blue". It has a ribbon-wrapped handle of dip-dyed two-toned green silk to add a vintage feeling.

These stone wall lamps from India have a magical quality.
I think they would look so sweet with the white pumpkins we are going to pick next weekend - don't you? hmmmm.....

I love this over sized zinc urn from Wisteria. It's great how they have it shown with just a few branches of chestnut pods. I could think of a million things to do with this...

An order which includes lush peachy pink tones - pinky yellow dahlias, Ambiance roses, blushing blackberries, and pink asclepias.
The accent of geranium leaves makes this feel very gardeny.

Willy Wonka's bathtub

OK - excuse the strange title this will make sense in a minute - keep reading...
I posted in a few months about one of my favorite home decor stores Zara Home. Thanks to Social Design for reminding us that Zara Home's fall catalog is out!
And it is just as dreamy as the last one...
I love this living room with a mid-century modern and organic mix

beautiful subtle color harmonies and textures
some great modern vases photostyled in such a compelling way
there is something very serene about this room...
and here is a shot of a dining room vignette from one of their store windows
...and the best for last - Willy Wonka's bathroom! That's what it makes me think of anyway. I just love the industrial ductwork as a backdrop for this soaking tub! I guess you could take the reverie even further and imagine there is molten chocolate running through those pipes...just like in the factory.

Lovely orders with garden roses and some new (to me) varieties of Ecuadoran roses.

little lady

My style is not normally overly girlie or feminine but when I saw this picture from the Brocade catalog...I loved it. The composition is so sweet with all the little baby tu-tus and linen dresses in neutral tones against that swirlie damask wallpaper...not to mention the towers of French ribbon - yummy....

garden variety

I was experimenting with some varieties of garden roses a few weeks ago...
Although not long lasting and quite fragile, they have such lovely full heads and such a rich sweet smell - each one distinctive

and here are Fair Biancas - the scent is quite fruity
