coral + green

This Friday I leave you with some pretty posies. This arrangement was created back in May and features one of my favorite color combinations - coral and green. I used Moscow and Classic Cezanne roses, snowball viburnum, red clover, lamb's ear, pale pink stock, poppy pods, and grey leucadendron.

Have a fab weekend everyone!

Street of Eames - Path house

Ok, I admit it - I am saving the best (in my opinion) for last on the Street of Eames tour. This home was designed by Path Architecture - go to their website to see more pics of this stunning home - I am telling you it will knock your socks off! So this house was just completed and is 3 stories high and all based around a columnar fireplace that goes up through the house which allows fireplaces on all levels. My favorite space is the dining room which is 2 stories tall and has roll-away wood framed doors that open onto a courtyard. This arrangement is over 7 feet tall. It features dogwood branches, kale, Papaya Ecuadoran roses, green bud hydrangea, yellow snaps, and monstera leaves. Some of the other arrangements in the house have added tulips, ranuncula, and eucalyptus pods. The yellow and orange color story adds to the homes warm and sunny feeling. Have a great weekend everyone!

Street of Eames - Schouten house

Next up on the Street of Eames tour - the Schouten house which was built in 1959 and renovated in 2007. Another home that is tucked up in the hills - it takes advantage of the views of the trees and surrounding land. The home is decorated in a very sparce, modern way with Japanese accents such as Tonsu chests, Shoji screens, and Tatami. The main arrangements where a set on the long wood dining table. These featured architectural elements of angular equisetum to mimic the bamboo outside. We used Avalanche and Green Tea roses, berzellia, burgundy tinged succulents, kale, kermit poms, bonsai eucalyptus, and burgundy-tinged leacadendron (they look like tiny pinecones).

Street of Eames - Crawford house

Next stop on the Street of Eames tour - the Crawford house - a condo complex built in 2007 in SE Portland. This place is bright and cheerful with a good design flow that makes it feel more spacious. There were accents of pale yellow everywhere so we picked up on that for the flowers. Below is a grouping of brown ceramic containers with succulents and billy buttons in the master bedroom. Below that are pics of the dining table arrangement with pale Alexandra roses, billy buttons, yellow stock, kermit poms, silver leaucadendron, ferns, and dusty miller.

Street of Eames - Engberg house

This next home was built in 1969 and remodeled recently. The yard has a breathtaking view over the city. The living room has a library feel with floor to ceiling bookshelves in wood. Here is a low and lush arrangement done for the dining table. There were other accents of purple and grey in the home so we pulled in this color story. We used succulents, purple kale, berzellia, green tea roses, and dusty miller.

Street of Eames - Mc Carthy house

Time to show you the Street of Eames home tour! Here are the flowers we did for the Mc Carthy house. This house was built in 2008 and is full of light and features an open floor plan downstairs. The top arrangements were done for the large wood dining table - we did a pair of them. They are low and lush and feature succulents, pincushions, berzellia, silver foliage, Supergreen and Alexandra roses, dusty miller, orange ranuncula, green bud hydrangea, and the star of the show - lotus pods. The paler yellow and grey one had succulents and was for the upper bedroom and the bottom pic shows a series of pod vases with billy buttons on the living room coffee table - they create a fun story together.

thanks

Hope everyone enjoyed their weekend! It is crazy warm here in Portland and everyone gets all giddy! The Street of Eames tour was this weekend and we really enjoyed it. We do the flowers for the tour at ink & peat and I also love going to see all the homes. Here are a few pics from our benefit party a few weeks ago. Below is a very large arrangement I did for the party - forsythia branches, burgundy foliage, parrot tulips, Coffee Break Ecuadoran roses, ranunculas, ferns, kale and mimosa. Below on the left is a pic of the Street of Eames team. Sherri and her team work tirelessly to make sure this benefit goes off without a hitch and all the goods and services are donated so all proceeds go to help homeless kids in after-school enrichment programs. Keep in mind you can donate to the cause at any time. The pic on the right shows  Traci French (we also had a fab art opening with her work that night) and the folks from Plywerk (a wonderful system for mounting art on wood panels). We are still showing Traci's wonderful photos at the shop through this month so please come enjoy them. Thanks to everyone who came and donated to this great cause! Tomorrow, pics of the flowers on the home tour!

something blue

Here is a sweet wedding we did 2 weeks ago. They were married at Timberline Lodge. It was a lovely combination of white and greens with just a hint of blue. We used Avalanche and Limbo roses, white freesia, green kermit poms, berzellia, green hypericum, tulips, green hydrangea, white cherry blossoms, white snapdragons, kale, andromeda, blue eucalyptus, and just touches of blue tweedia and delphinium.
