With the weather turning chilly here in Portland, people have been snapping up these adorable over-the-knee socks at our shop! In about a few days, I am about to embark on my first trip to Italy. I have to say I am overwhelmed by all there is to do in Rome, Tuscany, and Florence. I am pretty convinced that I will want to get up at 5 am evey day just to try and fit it all in! So many churches, old buildings, vistas, hill towns, and the food - dont even get me started on the food. Let's just say that gelato will probably become a staple and thank God for those Spanish Steps! Let me know if anyone has a spot not to miss in any of those locations. Ciao!

Last weekend I was so fortunate to meet and have brunch with the lovely and talented Heather Moore of Skinny Laminx. Heather designs all sorts of textiles - tea towels, pillows, decor fabrics, aprons, and now kids cloths in her studio in Capetown South Africa. ink & peat has carried Skinny Laminx since we were first open and I absolutley love her sense of pattern, color, and whimsy. Have you bloggers exerienced this - you may have know someone through blogs for years but somehow once you meet them in person it becomes "real"? You feel like old chums even though you have never met them. Gotta love this crazy blogging world and how it brings folks together. We will have a nice stock in of Heather's tea towels and cushions in a few weeks!
