Yes the witch hazel is indeed dramatic. It creeps me out a bit. It reminds me to much of spiders. I dont have that reaction to spider mums or fuji mums but those things appear ah - very spidery. That is strange. i have never been creeped out by a plant. Oh well. it must be my spider aphobia

Love it! The cotrast between the dark lines and delicate yellow flowers is soo dramatic!

I saw that in someone's yard the other day, and was immediately taken with it, so glad you posted about it! I asked my Frank Adams rep to send me some flowering branches today, so maybe this will be there..ohh, I hope!

gah! witch hazel is my favorite! and your simple presentation packs the maximum impact.
i love to see these branches when the weather is especially gloomy - the vibrant yellows take me somewhere else, usually until the wind smacks me in the face again.

that is one of the few shots of color we get here in the western north carolina mountains in winter-I love it!
