This is my 300th post today. I just wanted to stop and thank everyone for reading thus far, all the wonderful comments and support, and friends I have made all over the world. So thank you and I hope you read 300 more! I have lots of goodies in store for you!
One of my favorite shops in Montecito, CA (Santa Barbara) is Pierre Lafond. It actually is a series of shops - Pierre Lafond has a gourmet deli, there are 2 Wendy Foster women's boutiques, and my favorite - Upstairs at Pierre Lafond. It is a wonderful mix of home decor, tabletop, garden, children's, men's, jewelry, and bath and bodycare. They also have a new blog here.
Say hello to the new ink & peat - mobile. Doing a floral design business from home can be a challenge. Additionally challenging is having a small car. So I went ahead and invested in the future...a new vehicle for the business. It will help to have something bigger when picking up boxes of flowers at the market at 5:30am. The Honda Element has all rubber floor mats so it will be great for the mossy, muddy, wet stems I will be hauling! And I will be able to deliver small weddings in it too! There was no question on the color....green, of course! Now to name her...any ideas?
The days have been so chilly here. I am not sure polar fleece was ever on my radar as a home decor solution, but I have found myself stocking up on fuzzy couch blankets - you know what I mean - the ones that feel like a teddy bear? I am not saying this is the height of home fashion but it gets ya through...
Anyway, a nice break in the afternoon (when it starts getting dark at 4:30pm) is to share a simple pot of tea in a pretty pot with pretty cups. It feels like a treat. Shown here is my Japanese iron pot with pine needle pattern and a few cups we bought in Thailand years ago. The tea is a favorite - Aveda's "comforting tea".
